My little herb garden wall project is coming along. Cilantro has begun to sprout in it's new little home -- a green mason jar mounted on a piece of distressed wood. So cute! Little life sprung! I got these Ball jars in a set of six from Sur la Table. Check them out!
Wall Herb Garden Project - Part One
I love cooking with fresh herbs. As is typical with City living, we have no yard or even patio area for a garden. So I'm making an herb garden in my kitchen. It will be a wall piece. I've collected all of the elements for the garden, next will be to put them all together. My talented artist sister will be visiting soon and she has promised to help me finish the project. Stay tuned!
Mandoline for Slicing Thin
I love my Mandoline for getting even, consistent slices every time. It's great for scalloped potatoes. Here I'm using it to get super thin red onion slices which will sit atop my Prosciutto & Red Onion Pizza. The Mandoline pictured here is by Oxo and can be found at Sur la Table. Check it out.
Stuffed Baby Bells
These scrumptious stuffed baby bell peppers make colorful appetizers. We had them for lunch! These are stuffed with ricotta cheese, mild italian sausage, spinach, a little grated Romano cheese and some herb de provence. Bake at 400 (f) for about 20 minutes until peppers have softened and their flavor becomes more subtle. And they're also low carb and gluten free!
Herb Stripper
I love this fantastic little tool. It quickly strips stems from herbs like Cilantro and Italian Parsley, two of my favorite fresh herbs. It also works well for leafy veggies like Kale. The one pictured here is by Chef'n and can be found at Sur la Table. Check it out.
